ZincNyx Energy Solutions is developing a range of energy storage products based on a novel zinc-air fuel cell technology. A substantial market for these products exists in utility, commercial, industrial, remote power generation and similar applications. With powerful backing and a committed nucleus, ZincNyx is expanding its product development team to capitalize on this rare opportunity.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop electrical designs at the system, subsystem and component level
• Collaborate with system architects to develop system partitioning model and formalize system interfaces
• Design embedded control systems and associated analog/digital peripherals
• Prepare designs suitable for both prototyping and high volume manufacturing processes
• Propose and investigate cost-reduction strategies
• Identify and test appropriate components for long life performance
• Provide detailed hardware design documentation and BOM’s
• Prepare plans for functional, performance and lifetime testing
• Arrange and support regulatory testing
• Prepare design documentation for internal and external customers
• Assist mechanical engineers with provision of lab test equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Ten years’ experience in electrical/electronic design in a related field
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
• Experience with prototype development and testing
• Experience with the design of embedded control systems
• Experience in designing standard products for volume production
• Experience with regulatory testing
• Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience in the industrial battery or power conversion industry
• Experience with the design of power conversion and voltage regulation systems
• Experience with design for reliability, availability and serviceability
• Exposure to mechanical design considerations
• Ability to recognize and develop cost reduction opportunities
• Exposure to documentation control and change control systems
