ZincNyx Energy Solutions is developing a range of energy storage products based on a novel zinc-air flow battery technology. A substantial market for these products exists in utility, commercial, industrial, remote power generation and similar applications. With powerful backing and a committed nucleus ZincNyx is expanding its product development team to capitalize on this rare opportunity.

ZincNyx requires a Production Engineer with a strong manufacturing background to oversee the manufacturing facility for our unique fuel cell electrodes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production of electrodes
  • Identify and report opportunities for quality and yield improvement
  • Maintain electrode quality standards and improve the efficiency of electrode production, utilizing knowledge of tooling and production equipment capabilities, parts and materials, fabrication processes, and quality control methods
  • Apply statistical methods of process control to drive continuous improvement activities and to estimate future manufacturing requirements
  • Define requirements for manufacturing equipment with a focus on volume production and process automation
  • Work with production staff in the facility to optimize working conditions, preventative maintenance actions and overall efficiency
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Use standard processes (e.g. FMEA) to solve manufacturing problems
  • Consult with management and engineering regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role in a high tech manufacturing environment
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to volume manufacturing
  • Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with gas diffusion electrodes
  • Experience with calendering machines
  • Experience with powder mixing and fibrillation techniques
  • Experience with catalyst ink formulation, coating and spraying
  • Experience with electro-chemical products and processes
  • Experience in selecting and managing external suppliers and subcontractors
