Junior Mechanical Engineer
ZincNyx Energy Solutions is developing a range of energy storage products based on a novel zinc-air fuel cell technology. A substantial market for these products exists in utility, commercial, industrial, remote power generation and similar applications. With powerful backing and a committed nucleus ZincNyx is expanding its product development team to capitalize on this rare opportunity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs at the system, subsystem and component level
- Select mechanical, electro-mechanical and fluid system components
- Collaborate with electro-chemical and Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling specialists
- Analyze designs using 3D modeling and FEA
- Prepare designs suitable for prototyping and/or high volume manufacturing processes
- Propose and investigate cost-reduction strategies
- Identify and test appropriate materials for long life performance
- Provide SolidWorks models/drawings, using ASME Y14.5 standards
- Prepare plans for functional, performance and lifetime testing
- Prepare design documentation for internal and external customers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Three years’ experience in mechanical design in a related field
- Experience with prototype development and testing
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with transporting solids in fluids
- Experience with electro-chemical products and processes
- Experience in CFD
